Killing Eve (TV series 2018–)

Italian Job.

Italian Job.

Helena’s Notes:

Note1: If Olga was as good a writer as she thinks she is, she would’ve written “Codename Villanelle”, and I would’ve been this cool international assassin, instead of this angsty yet beautiful teenager who hates everyone, but most of all her own sister. Bet Villanelle doesn’t even have a sister, bet she’s way too cool for that. Why can’t characters choose their authors? So unfair.

Note2: Talking of unfair (***spoiler alert***), not to mention highly unlikely, how about Villanelle, the world-class kickass assassin, ending up getting stabbed by Eve, of all people? Makes me kind of think that maybe my fictional life ain’t all that bad. Olga may have surrounded me by all sorts of irritants, but at least she’s never created a snot-smear of a character to glue the plot together in a socially acceptable, so-called sane way.

Too little, too late.

Too little, too late.

Olga’s Notes:

Note1: Jodie Comer kills it as Villanelle, the brutal twenty-something assassin with perfectly likeable psychopathic tendencies and a penchant for Champagne, designer clothes and brunettes. Utterly mesmerising, she makes the plot and other holes all but disappear.

Note2: Why does “Killing Eve” remind me of “Utopia”?
