Tragedy Girls (2017)

Who goes??

Who goes??

OLGA’S NOTES:

Note1: I have a thing for small town throwdowns; the weirder the better. Truth is, small towns are weird. All kinds of weird. Backwaters offer easy pickings for a savvy writer or director with a penchant for OTTs of human condition.

Note2: I also have a thing for anything that features a teenage girl (or two), fighting for what she believes in. Now, “Tragedy Girls” may not be fighting the noblest of causes, or giving the fairest of fights, but they most certainly entertain, tickle and amuse along the way.

Note3: So... Nature or nurture?

Most parents like to think that our best efforts would prove sufficient to keep our children out of the Dark Triad. But what if the narcissists, Machiavellians and psychopaths of this world are simply born that way? Would that let us off the hook, or imply that we need to step up our parental efforts accordingly? This is one of the questions I pose in my third novel, “A Psychopath’s Guide to Girls”; pose, but dare not answer.

HELENA’S NOTES:

Note1: Now can I talk about “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”? Cos, if that’s not a textbook small town throwdown weird, then I honestly don’t know what is.

Note2: “Tragedy Girls” are not tragic at all. They’re just a couple of lesbians, which is basically the only reason they’re chopping everyone into bits. No other cause, rhyme, or reason: they just like to pretend they’re men. That’s it. Pure fun.

Note3: What third novel?? Why aren’t I in it? Bet it’s shit.
